Model QC – Quick Clean
Young Industries Quick Clean Rotary Valves offer a unique cantilevered design having two bearings on one end of the rotor shaft. The rotor itself is cantilevered from the bearings on the shaft and is completely removable from the valve on the opposite end of the housing. The housing is provided with a removable cover for easy access to the valve interior and removal of the rotor. The Rotor is simply pulled off the shaft and completely removed from the rotary valve assembly. Young Industries Quick Clean Cantilevered design allows complete access to the valve interior for cleaning.
Application Information
Our Model “QC” (Quick Clean) Rotary Valves are engineered to minimize downtime in process applications and save you money with easy rotor removal and reassembly. The “QC” rotary valve has two (2) outboard ball bearings on one side with a bolt-in-place access door on the other side. The rotor shaft is sealed by four (4) packing rings of Kevlar located on the back fixed end plate with exterior packing follower and a bolted access door on other end plate provides access to the internal wetted parts. The access door can be hinged and have an “O” ring seal to prevent outside leakage.
These valves are used to reduce downtime for valve clean up; allowing removal of the rotor without removing the packing gland. No tools are required for disassembly or assembly. This valve is typically used where access to the valve’s interior is required, but total clean up of all components is not a factor.
The quick clean design modifications are available as a drop-thru airlock feeder valve with a Model “HC” (High Capacity) model or a Model “LH” (Low Headroom); or as a Model “SE” (Side Entry).
Our Model “CA” (Cantilevered) Rotary Valves use shrouded rotor designs. The “CA” valve can be furnished in the end seal design for hose applications requiring reduced air or gas leakage across the valve.
Our cantilevered high capacity (HC-CA) and low headroom (LH-CA) models have received 3A Dairy Approval as a clean in-place valve.
The “CA” rotary valve has two (2) outboard tapered roller bearings on one side of the rotor with a hinged bolt-in-place access door on the other side. The rotor shaft is sealed by four (4) PTFE Chevron seal rings located of the drive hub that can be adjusted with the the packing follower nut and drive pin. These valves are available with a wide variety of features to handle a wide range of process requirements.

Model QC
The Quick Clean Rotary Valve is available as the Model QC and Model CA styles.
The Model QC Rotary Valve is designed for easy removal of the rotor while the shaft seal is retained on the Rotary Valve Housing.
Important Information
Media & Case Studies
INTRO: Rotary Valve – Model BT – Blow-Thru Airlock
8” Blow Thru Rotary Valve with 4” Convey line is used for handling inorganic chemical powders. The Blow Thru design assures positive discharge of the fine cohesive powder.
DEMO: RNHC Rotary Valve
This Drop-Thru Rotary Valve is specifically designed to meter pellets or prilled products without shearing the material.
Model CA
The Model CA Rotary Valve uses a chevron shaft seal assembly which is attached to the rotor. This feature allows the shaft seal of the valve to be removed with the rotor for maintenance or cleaning as needed. The Model CA Rotary Valve is used for the most sanitary applications where no tools are needed for complete dis-assembly of product contact parts.
The Model QC and Model CA Quick Clean Rotary Valves are constructed using Young Industries Model LH or HC Drop-thru Rotary Valve housings, or the Model SE Side Entry Valve housings.
REVIEW: Rotary Valves – Model QC & CA
Young Industries offers a wide variety of sanitary rotary valves. This video shows how easy it is to access and clean the valve with the cantilever rotor design.
GUIDE: Rotary Valves – Model QC – Disassembly
Young Industries line of Quick Clean Rotary Valves require no tools for rotor removal. Larger valves are now offered with a rotor extractor to make rotor removal easy. The extractor is used in the video.
INTRO: Rotary Valves – Model ES – End Seal
Young Industries patented End Seal Rotary Valve reduces air leakage due to differential pressure by up to 50%. The self-adjusting end seal eliminates axial leakage around the rotor.
