Duct Adapters
US Duct can adapt your duct to anything — a machine, a hose, or any outlet; however, there are some standard adapters. These include hose adapters, machine adapters, and adapters to transition from one connection type to another including:
- Flange to rolled-lip
- Rolled-lip to raw end
- Rolled-lip to US Tubing
- US Tubing to Flange
- US Tubing to raw end
- Square to round adapters/transitions
Hose Adapters
Hose adapters are used to connect the duct to flex hose. One end of the adapter is typically roll-lip and the other end is a raw end (approximately the size of the inside diameter, ID, of the hose) with an expanded bead knurled onto the adapter end. A worm clamp is used to tighten the hose to the adapter and the expanded bead keeps it from sliding off.
Machine Adapters
Machine adapters are made to adapt the duct to a machine. This adapter typically slides over the machine outlet and is affixed to the machine with tech screws or welding.
Connection Adapters
Connection adapters are used to switch from one connection type to another. When connecting to an existing system, machine or duct component, it is often necessary to alter the ducting connections to a different connection type. This is most common when adding rolled-lip, Clamp Together Duct, to the non-clamping systems. Adapters are a single piece that has one connection type on one end and another on the other end. Again, the most common are rolled-lip to flange connection adapters. Some adapters increase or decrease the diameter size, as well – these are usually called transitions, however.
